Ladybug Lane Designs

Well ... here we are and what can I say? I've been stitching since ... well, a long time. Years ago I went to a needlework shop to buy some yarn to make a sweater for my little daughter, and was curious about all the cross stitch models on the wall at "Dennis Art Needlework" in Decatur, Georgia. At that time there wasn't very much in the way of "counted" cross stitch ... silly me thought it was all still stamped! (Ick! Yuck!) Anyhow, the wonderful shop owner -- Georgia Dennis -- show me how to get started (on 22 count hardanger!) by selling me a little charted logo of the "Atlanta Flames" ....

boy was that a long time ago! My son was enthralled by the Flames hockey team .... I think they're in Calgary now. But I digress ... Georgia Dennis is an absolutely lovely lady who taught me so much and "held my hand" through all the mistakes I made (which were plenty!) and had me totally hooked for life! Which by the way is a good reason to support your local needlework shop -- how else can you get one on one lessons and support, touch and feel all the wonderful fabrics and fibers ... and actually open up and look at new books and charts?

Anyhow, hubby and I live in Marietta, Georgia and take care of Ladybug Lane out of our home. Eventually we hope to move us and the "bugs" to Mobile, Alabama, but for now we're here.
